Immerse yourself in the authentic south of Morocco with our 7-Day Zagora & Draa Valley Journey. This itinerary is designed for travelers who appreciate history, lush landscapes, and a slower pace of travel.
The highlight of this trip is the magnificent Draa Valley, a green ribbon of life winding through the arid mountains, home to millions of date palms and centuries-old Kasbahs. You will explore Zagora, known as the "Gate to the Desert," and visit the famous library of Tamegroute.
Unlike the high dunes of Merzouga, this region offers a unique rocky desert landscape (Hamada) interspersed with verdant oases. You'll enjoy nights in authentic riads and a traditional camp, experiencing the true hospitality of the Berber people.
7-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - Telouet - Ouarzazate
Cross the High Atlas via the scenic Telouet route. Visit the Glaoui Kasbah. Arrive in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate - Agdz - Draa Valley
Drive over the Anti-Atlas mountains to Agdz. Explore the massive palm groves and Kasbah Tamnougalt.
Day 3: Draa Valley - Zagora - Tamegroute
Visit the pottery workshops and Quranic library in Tamegroute. Sunset in the Zagora rocky desert.
Day 4: Zagora - N'kob - Tazarine
Traverse the rugged pre-Saharan landscapes. Stop in N'kob, the village of 45 Kasbahs. Overnight in a traditional guest house.
Day 5: Tazarine - Alnif - Todra Gorges
Drive through acacia forests to Alnif. Reach the towering cliffs of Todra Gorges for a relaxing evening.
Day 6: Todra - Dades Valley - Skoura
Walk in the Dades Valley. Visit the Monkey Fingers rock formation. Overnight in the quiet Skoura Oasis.
Day 7: Skoura - Marrakech
Visit Kasbah Amridil. Leisurely drive back to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas mountains.
