Escape the heat and bustle of Marrakech on this refreshing day trip to the Ouzoud Waterfalls. Located in the Middle Atlas Mountains, these stunning cascades drop 110 meters (360 feet) into a deep canyon, creating a spectacular natural display often crowned with a rainbow.
Accompanied by a local guide, you'll hike down shaded olive groves to the water's edge. Here, you can take a traditional boat ride to feel the mist of the falls up close. The area is also home to wild Barbary macaques, who are friendly and often come down to greet visitors (especially if you have peanuts!).
Enjoy a delicious Berber tagine for lunch at one of the terrace restaurants overlooking the falls before a relaxed drive back to Marrakech.
Pick up from your hotel/riad in Marrakech. Scenic 2.5-hour drive through olive groves and Berber villages.
Meet your local guide. Hike down the winding path to the bottom of the falls. Spot wild monkeys in the trees.
Enjoy a traditional lunch (optional) on a terrace with a view. Optional boat ride closer to the cascades.
Drive back to Marrakech in the late afternoon. Drop off at your accommodation.
