Escape the crowds and journey deep into the Moroccan south on this 6-Day Chegaga Wild Sahara Adventure. Unlike the more accessible Erg Chebbi, Erg Chegaga offers a raw, untouched desert experience accessible only by 4x4 off-road driving.
You will traverse the dry salt lake of Iriqui, follow the tracks of the old Paris-Dakar rally, and camp amidst massive dunes that stretch as far as the eye can see. This tour connects the High Atlas Mountains, the Anti-Atlas, and the Draa Valley—Morocco's longest river valley lined with millions of palm trees.
Nights will be spent in charming guesthouses and a secluded desert camp under a blanket of stars. This is the ultimate trip for those seeking solitude, adventure, and a profound connection with nature.
6-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Agdz
Cross Tizi n'Tichka pass. Visit Ait Ben Haddou. Continue to Agdz at the start of Draa Valley.
Day 2: Agdz - Zagora - M'hamid
Drive through the endless Draa Valley palm groves. Visit Tamgroute pottery. Reach the desert gateway M'hamid.
Day 3: M'hamid - Erg Chegaga (Off-Road)
4x4 adventure into the deep desert. Reach Erg Chegaga big dunes. Sunset camel ride & Nomad camp stay.
Day 4: Chegaga - Lake Iriqui - Foum Zguid
Cross the dry Lake Iriqui. Fossil hunting. Arrive at the desert town of Foum Zguid for overnight.
Day 5: Foum Zguid - Taznakht - Ouarzazate
Drive via Taznakht (famous for carpets). Visit Fint Oasis. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 6: Ouarzazate - Telouet - Marrakech
Visit Telouet Kasbah in the mountains. Return to Marrakech via the High Atlas by evening.
